AtlantiCare is a New Jersey–based healthcare system that provides inpatient, emergency, and outpatient care. The organization sought to help alleviate the administrative burden on clinicians while improving emergency department (ED) workflows, becoming an early adopter of Oracle Health’s AI-powered clinical documentation.
Oracle Health collaborated with AtlantiCare's clinical leaders to support the transformation of its ED through a structured approach. The team completed a pre-engagement assessment of Oracle Health Emergency Medicine workflows and documentation practices to understand how current-state processes aligned with the future-state design.
Based on those findings, Oracle Health worked with AtlantiCare to optimize physician workflows and documentation while implementing Oracle Health Clinical AI Agent and ED LaunchPoint using a structured design-build-test-educate methodology.
Together, these capabilities helped modernize clinical workflows, streamline documentation, and enable providers and nurses to transition smoothly to the new workflows.
Following implementation, physician documentation time per patient decreased by 37%, dropping from 5 minutes and 36 seconds to 3 minutes and 18 seconds.[1] By April 2026, 99% of physician notes were created using the new documentation workflows.
Nursing staff also reduced active EHR time by 6% per patient,[2] enabling them to spend more time focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Clinicians also embraced new views for chart review, with provider usage increasing by 33 percentage points[3] and nursing usage increasing by 40 percentage points,[4] supporting efficient access to patient information and streamlined clinical workflows.
Overall, the implementation has delivered measurable improvements in efficiency while driving strong adoption of Oracle Health's modern emergency department workflows and AI-enabled documentation tools.
