We see Oracle as a strategic long-term partner, not just a software vendor. This partnership helps position Great Eastern for a digital-first, AI-first future.

Great Eastern wanted to move its main enterprise applications to the cloud to improve their scalability and reliability. Founded in 1908 and based in Singapore, Great Eastern is one of Asia’s leading life insurance companies, serving more than 16 million policyholders across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Brunei.

The company migrated its policy administration, finance, distribution, reporting, and rewards systems onto Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). With regional engineering support, Great Eastern was able to leverage Oracle’s data management and analytic capabilities to provide faster customer service across its operations.

The upgrade to Oracle Autonomous AI Database on Exadata Cloud@Customer, using the OCI Landing Zone template, helped improve data synchronization, reduce manual patching and tuning, automate data encryption, and increase performance, scalability, and availability. The company is also using native AI services such as Select AI, agentic AI, and AI-assisted development tools to improve oproductivity. Additionally, having Oracle’s hybrid cloud running within Great Eastern’s data center helps the company meet data residency compliance requirements. As a result, Great Eastern has increased revenue by 10% and efficiency by 50%, cut IT costs by 30%, and reduced turnaround times for some insurance processes from six to eight weeks to less than three days.
